New Interchange is a multi-level course for the students who have
finished Super Ninjas or students of SMP – SMA.
New Interchange is divided into 4 levels:

New Interchange – 3
New Interchange teaches students how to use English
for everyday situations and purposes related to school, social life,
work and leisure. Students will have the opportunity to personalize
the language they learn, make use of their own knowledge and
experiences and express their ideas and opinions.
Speech
Students must use 100% English in daily communication.
A number of different kinds of activities focus on speaking skills
can be found in New Interchange books, such as, conversation, pair
work, role plays, group work, whole class activities and Interchange
activities which are designed to support each unit they learn.
Listening
Cassettes/CDs are available to assist students to improve their
listening skill.
Listening activities in New Interchange are all recorded naturally
with a variety of native and some non-native accents. The listening
exercises are designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and
the real world.
Reading
Reading passages use various types of texts adapted from
authentic sources and provide adult content that both students and
the teacher will enjoy.
Writing
Writing activities in New Interchange focus on various forms of
writing. The writing exercises include practical writing tasks that
extend and reinforce the topic and grammar of the unit or cycle and
help develop students’ compositional skills.
Computer
Rainbow school uses computer programs for SMP - SMA level
students to practice English more enjoyably. One student – one
computer. The programs are designed to improve listening and
comprehension. Vocabularies are also learnt the easy way with lots
of fun. The students review their computer sessions in the classroom
with their ‘computer’ book.
PASSAGES SMA
— SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Passages is a two-level course for upper-intermediate to advanced
level students who have completed New Interchange or those who have
studied English for a number of years, and have a good foundation in
general language skills.
Passages is divided into 2 levels:
The course covers four skills of speaking,
listening, reading and writing while giving systematic attention to
grammar and vocabulary. Passages develops both fluency and accuracy
in English through the topics which students will enjoy and provide
many opportunities for personalization and discussion, promoting the
development of both linguistic and communication skills,
Speech
Students in Passages speak only English. Speech in Passages will be
focused in 2 steps:

Speak English fluently i.e., express a wide
range of ideas without
unnecessary pauses or breakdowns in communication.

Speak English accurately i.e., use an acceptable
standard of pronunciation and
grammar when communicating.
Listening
Cassettes/CDs are available to assist students to improve their
listening skills.
The listening material is based on authentic recordings of
interviews and discussions with native speakers which have been
edited and recorded for clarity. Non native varieties of English are
also used where appropriate.
Reading
Readings are adapted from a variety of authentic sources and
edited for clarity.
Pre-reading and post-reading tasks allow students to fully utilize
each reading passage and to develop reading skills.
Writing
Each unit in Passages book contains one page of writing
activities.
Students learn many kinds of writing, such as how to identify main
idea, organize paragraphs, business letters, book reports, etc.
They move from writing short paragraphs to composing a
three-paragraph composition.
Computer
Rainbow school uses computer programs for SMA level students to
practice English more enjoyably. One student – one computer. The
computer programs add more fun to English. The students practice
listening and comprehension with fun. The students review their
computer sessions in the classroom with their ‘computer’ book.
